I have two of these listed - identical twins of each other - with this one being a touch smaller then the other. It is a beautiful 1960s gown from Oscar De La Renta! It is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with the gold - at first glance it appears to be a brocade, but the fabric is actually a really unusual textured silk organza fabric. Onto this, gold thread has been worked in to highlight the vibrant print that is custom screened onto the gown. The pattern is fantastic - blues, greens and purples flowers explode across its surface, with shots of hot pink, all done on a deep blue backdrop. The upper bodice is fitted and has a extravagant ruffled collar with the sleeves left unlined. I love how the design becomes denser as it nears the hem and on the sleeves - this cleverly draws the eye and creates a long. lean silhouette. The original wide matching fabric sash/tie belt is present and helps to define and conch on the waist. Excellent condition
